Pentester Candidate Program November 2017

Pentester Candidate Program November 2017

On Saturday the 18th  of November 2017, Strategic Security/InfoSec Addicts relaunched the Pentester Candidate Program. This program is designed to satisfy the basic requirements of a penetration tester. The program will cover the most common technical and soft skill requirements. Top candidates will later receive job interviews for a remote penetrating testing job. This is through partnership with several penetration testing firms

Top candidates may receive interview opportunities for a cleared penetration testing position. This is more so for those with a US Security Clearance and who live in either the DC, Maryland or Virginia areas.

This is the real chance more so for those who REALLY want to become pentesters. It is the perfect combination of hands-on training, mentorship, and a real job opportunity.

  • A letter of reference from Joe McCray
  • Top candidates are guaranteed interviews with consulting firms and DoD contracting companies.

    1. Hello, the class is purely online and thus there’s no reason for you not to signup. Will be waiting to see you there. Regards.

  1. Hello ,
I am based in Yaounde, Cameroon,Africa.I have no experience with Linux nor programming but I am really interested in the course.
Is this course suitable for me?

    1. Hello, I am glad that you show immense interest in this. With that, I believe that the course is suitable for you too. Please jump into it but be sure to grasp a few basics in the remaining few weeks to the program. Regards.

  2. When you say ” Candidates will have a chance to take ANY and AS MANY classes that they want” does that mean we can take these classes at no additional cost or will we have to pay for them.

  3. Will we be able to take additional classes for free only during the duration of the program, or is there a set time frame afterwards?

  4. what if i’m not in that top candidate pool. will i still have a chance to try and get an interview with a company in your network? im really looking for a career change and would love to get paid to do this instead of doing this for fun.

    1. Hello, why not strive to be among the top pool instead? We would like to see every participant gain as much as possible from the program as thus the motivation.

  5. Greetings,
I was planning on taking the January 2018 candidate program but I got extremely excited when I saw this opportunity. I am not new to IT but I am relatively new to pen-testing but I really really want to make this career change and learn how to be a great pentester. My question is what would be the primary difference between the 2 programs outside of the fact that one last 3 months and this one last 1 month? Should I expect more of a “crash” course style?

  6. I am super excited for this class. Any suggestions for wargaming like bandit? Or would web goat be a better self study framework?

    1. Hello Sandesh. Sure, you can join the class as it is purely online. Additionally, course material is sent to all participants via email so you don’t have to worry about missed time.

  7. Hi, I registered for 2018 program on another page, but I got list of schedule of webinars starting 18 november on my email, has November program started yet? As I received only schedule November and December, but nothing else.

  8. I received an email about the course today. Is there still time to enroll? Has the score started already. if it has started already, what have I missed?

    1. Hello Horace, yes, there’s still time to enroll. The course is in the initial stages and so this is the right time to jump in. Regards.

  9. Note, if anyone is having VM issues I had some…
    1. Use to download the VM. I tried with osboxes, but had issues with the openvpn connecting.
2.If the openvpn does NOT work the first time, I went through the rest of the setup and then did the openvpn download again before doing sudo with the client.
    3. I used the IP address sent to me vs. in the pdf instructions for the Firefox address.

Took me a few hours to set up after troubleshooting, getting the VM website correct (and downloaded) along with the Kali VM (had to download again from offensive site), and comparing ip addresses here and there. I ENJOYED the troubleshooting session…FELT GOOD!

  10. Completed the registration for Pentester Candidate Program November 2017.
Wanted to download and setup my Mac prior to class.
I saw the tools to download and install, but cannot find that information now.
Could anyone please provide the link and/or list of items to download and install for the Pentester Candidate Program November 2017

    Thank you – theo j
